Brendon + Mykaela's Montage Laguna Wedding is on MARTHA!

We are so honored to be featured yet again in our favorite wedding blog of all time: MARTHA WEDDINGS!

Brendon and Mykaela got married on September 1, 2018, and had the most beautiful celebration at the Montage Laguna Beach. We had the honor of planning and designing their wedding in less than 6 months!

Our bride and groom are avid travelers, so we incorporated a slight travel theme to their overall wedding design. We are thrilled how it turned out, and the editors at Martha Weddings did a fantastic job at writing all about it. Check the blog post out here!

As always, we love to share the Mood Board we designed at the very beginning stages of planning. So fun to see how the wedding turned out based on this overall design we created! To see the full gallery of photos by the talented Ashley Ludaescher, and video by Nikki Riehle, head to our Portfolio.

Debbie & Frank's Seaside Wedding

On the weekend of Thanksgiving last year, we planned a beautiful seaside wedding for Debbie and Frank.

Part2-197.jpg

Although their marriage took place later in life, it didn’t deter these two from being head over heels for each other. Through every meeting we had with them planning colors, details, food and decor, these two seemed to be just so in love!

When talking with the two of them about their wedding design and feel, they made it clear they wanted a beach style wedding, with seashells and sunset toned florals. They wanted it to be a comfortable, fun space for their friends and family to gather and celebrate. Below is the mood board we created for their reception design, full of beach inspired shells, coral and driftwood, and the sunset toned florals. After looking at all the photos from their day, leave a comment below if you think we hit the mark with the design!

The reception took place at a private home in Shell Beach, right on the cliffs of the ocean. With various soft seating lounges throughout the yard, we brought the indoors out for a fun celebration that went well into the night. The sunset toned florals by Precious and Blooming were just the perfect accent to the ocean front property. Guests were sitting on the lounges, dancing on the dance floor and celebrating all night long!

This was such a lovely wedding to be a part of, and we will never forget the planning that went into it, and enjoying watching all the guests and Debbie and Frank celebrate. Debbie is no longer with us, and it is with heavy hearts that we send her family and friends our deepest condolences. She was the sweetest to us and we will forever cherish our memories of planning her day with her. Thank you Debbie for being so wonderful! <3

Keeping it Fresh

As we continue reflecting on past work we've done, we couldn't help but stop by this Citrus Inspired shoot we collaborated on with photographer Lindsey Gomes at the most beautifully intimate venue, Hammersky Vineyards. Citrus is a great natural accent piece for styling!

We have always loved citrus as an accent, but we really wanted to make it the focal point of this inspiration shoot. The color palette consisted of orange and peach, combined with a pale romantic blue. These complementary colors worked perfectly together against the green backdrop of Hammersky and with the rich greenery in the floral arrangements. Eden Florals created the most stunning table arrangements and bouquet, and we tried our hand at floral design with creating a faux greenery and floral backdrop for the cake.

As you can tell, it wasn't the brightest summer day, but the table setting alone creates a fresh, summery feeling. Using Anthropologie plates and glassware, the table had a farm fresh yet luxurious vibe.

The cake table was possibly our favorite part! The cake, by Christina Bonnet was so adorable and just had a slight blue marbling to it. And our fun triangular shaped backdrop turned out to be the perfect frame for this sweet cutting cake. And yes, we cut into it and it tasted just as good as it looked!

Thank you to an amazing team of vendors on this shoot!

Back to blogging

Hi friends!

It's been a while since we've blogged. Our last post was 10 months ago - almost a year! Not only have we been busy planning and designing weddings and events, but we just haven't prioritized blogging like we used to. Back in the day, we'd post every time we received a wedding album, or were featured on a large scale wedding blog or magazine. But once we realized a shift was happening, from Blogs to Instagram, we decided to go the easy route and just focus on upping our Instagram feed. It seemed to be a great platform for us, and our followers grew! Apparently less words, more photos is the way to capture an audience ;)

All that to say, we have decided to bring back the blog! There are certain things we can't post a ton of on Instagram, one of which is our design boards. We love sharing these as they're a little peek into how we go about the design process for events. We love seeing what inspires others so we want to do the same for you. Plus, if no one ends up reading our blog, we can always use it to reminisce!

One of our major goals of this year is to blog more and keep you updated on everything that's happening in the world of Lovelyfest. And if you don't follow us on Instagram, do so now! We post daily and give a lot of insight into our events, behind the scenes, and even some of our personal lives. We had such a fun year of designing and planning various events, and we wanted to share some highlights below. Thank you for following this journey with us, we cannot wait for some amazing 2018 weddings!
