Debbie & Frank's Seaside Wedding

On the weekend of Thanksgiving last year, we planned a beautiful seaside wedding for Debbie and Frank.

Part2-197.jpg

Although their marriage took place later in life, it didn’t deter these two from being head over heels for each other. Through every meeting we had with them planning colors, details, food and decor, these two seemed to be just so in love!

When talking with the two of them about their wedding design and feel, they made it clear they wanted a beach style wedding, with seashells and sunset toned florals. They wanted it to be a comfortable, fun space for their friends and family to gather and celebrate. Below is the mood board we created for their reception design, full of beach inspired shells, coral and driftwood, and the sunset toned florals. After looking at all the photos from their day, leave a comment below if you think we hit the mark with the design!

The reception took place at a private home in Shell Beach, right on the cliffs of the ocean. With various soft seating lounges throughout the yard, we brought the indoors out for a fun celebration that went well into the night. The sunset toned florals by Precious and Blooming were just the perfect accent to the ocean front property. Guests were sitting on the lounges, dancing on the dance floor and celebrating all night long!

This was such a lovely wedding to be a part of, and we will never forget the planning that went into it, and enjoying watching all the guests and Debbie and Frank celebrate. Debbie is no longer with us, and it is with heavy hearts that we send her family and friends our deepest condolences. She was the sweetest to us and we will forever cherish our memories of planning her day with her. Thank you Debbie for being so wonderful! <3

Camille & Jonathan: A Little Mermaid Inspired Wedding!

When we say 'A Little Mermaid Inspired Wedding", you're probably getting the idea that we had mermaid tails and fish scales flowing abundantly throughout this wedding design. But let us tell you, that is NOT the case!

Camille and Jonathan first met while working at Walt Disney Studios (hello, dream job), and bonded over the fact that The Little Mermaid was their favorite movie when they were little! Fast forward a few years and they began to plan their wedding, starting with the venue! They chose to get married at Lago Giuseppe in Paso Robles - the most magical venue set beside a lake and mossy trees in the middle of wine country.

They hired us on for Design only, and it was only fitting to incorporate their love of The Little Mermaid (and all things Disney) into their big day. With a color palette of pale ocean blues, deep reds, greens, and sequined neutrals, we created a romantic setting loosely based on the Disney theme.  We created table numbers out of seashells, Camille wore the most beautiful lace wedding dress, and linens were in various shades of blue. It was like a real life fairy tale!

For the seating chart, we painted our 7' wall pale blue, and hand wrote a romantic quote on it from the Little Mermaid "You're the one, the one that I've been looking for." We wrote guest's names and table numbers in gold calligraphy on real mussel shells, and attached these to the wall for guests to take home. Under these we created a faux seaweed look with dried pampas grass, for a fun underwater feel! This has to be one of our favorites, ever!

We put thought into each and every detail for C&J's wedding. See those fish shaped candleholders below? We sourced those specifically for this wedding! Jordan Voth captured every little detail, and we  were so excited to finally work with him after stalking his amazing Instagram!

Thanks to a fabulous team of vendors on this one. It was so fun to re-live this beautiful day! See the full gallery, here

California Wedding Day Best of 2017 Winners!

We are so excited to announce that we won BEST Event Design at the California Wedding Day Best of 2017 Awards

We were so honored to be nominated for this category, which was voted on first by the public, then by our vendor peers, and lastly by the magazine itself! Once we got to the final four, we were invited to attend the awards ceremony in downtown LA, at the beautiful Vibiana

This night was one for the books! A bunch of our vendor friends from SLO drove down the coast to attend this party, and it was so fun to celebrate with them all (see photo above!). There were four areas that rounded out this Best of Awards: San Luis Obispo County, Orange County, Los Angeles, and Ventura County/Santa Barabara. It was so fun to cheer on vendors who won from all these different areas. But it was especially fun to cheer on vendors from our little small town of SLO! And it was no mistake that we were THE loudest area by far. We love each other so much!

Above are some moments from when we won, it was such an honor to be up on that stage. All the late nights, long hours and FUN that comes with planning weddings. We absolutely love our jobs and love creating beauty for our couples. There is nothing better!

Thank you California Wedding Day!

The JAM Event Featured on Green Wedding Shoes!

When Cameron Ingalls first approached us to design a space at The Jam Event for The Wedding Standard, we were a bit hesitant. The theme was 1980's and we weren't sure where to begin. This is not our favorite decade design-wise! But of course we're willing to do anything for Cameron, so we put our thinking caps on and decided to go for it.

Our idea was to go full Miami Vice and create an over-the-top surf inspired/iridescent/pastel paradise. The Wedding Standard sponsored a space at The Jam Event where we were able to design a tablescape and lounge with our pal and florist Katie Noonan. It was pink, blue, punchy and bright, and everything we like about the 80's.

The entire album of images from The Jam is featured on Green Wedding Shoes today- check it out! After we saw all the other design spaces at the party we decided this decade wasn't so bad. Everyone knocked it out of the park!

The floral + balloon installation above is by Bright Inc and we LOVED it. The colors, textures, asymmetry, everything. Best way to start a party!

See our table and lounge design on Green Wedding Shoes under "THE VICE" and let us know what you think!
