Debbie & Frank's Seaside Wedding

On the weekend of Thanksgiving last year, we planned a beautiful seaside wedding for Debbie and Frank.

Although their marriage took place later in life, it didn’t deter these two from being head over heels for each other. Through every meeting we had with them planning colors, details, food and decor, these two seemed to be just so in love!

When talking with the two of them about their wedding design and feel, they made it clear they wanted a beach style wedding, with seashells and sunset toned florals. They wanted it to be a comfortable, fun space for their friends and family to gather and celebrate. Below is the mood board we created for their reception design, full of beach inspired shells, coral and driftwood, and the sunset toned florals. After looking at all the photos from their day, leave a comment below if you think we hit the mark with the design!

The reception took place at a private home in Shell Beach, right on the cliffs of the ocean. With various soft seating lounges throughout the yard, we brought the indoors out for a fun celebration that went well into the night. The sunset toned florals by Precious and Blooming were just the perfect accent to the ocean front property. Guests were sitting on the lounges, dancing on the dance floor and celebrating all night long!

This was such a lovely wedding to be a part of, and we will never forget the planning that went into it, and enjoying watching all the guests and Debbie and Frank celebrate. Debbie is no longer with us, and it is with heavy hearts that we send her family and friends our deepest condolences. She was the sweetest to us and we will forever cherish our memories of planning her day with her. Thank you Debbie for being so wonderful! <3

Kauai: Family Vacation + Wedding Venue Scouting

Last month we took a much-needed family vacation to Kauai {as seen on our Instagram}! We've been taking family vacations every year since we can remember, and have been to Kauai a number of times. We love it! It was only last year when we discovered The Ginger Beach House, where we spent 10 days in pure bliss. We had such an amazing time there last year that we came back this year for another 10 days!

Above are some of the photos we took of the beautiful Ginger Beach House, it's grounds, and the paradise of a beach it sits on, Anahola Beach. This house is seriously one of a kind. The furnishings are top notch, the design is impeccable, and no detail went overlooked. To be honest, our family is pretty critical when it comes to design. It's what we do! So while we were expecting this house to be great, we weren't expecting to be blown away. And there we were, blown away by the beauty and quality of this place! This house is incredible.

This is Anahola Bay, the crescent shaped beach that makes up the backyard of the Ginger Beach House. In the summer it's perfect for swimming, fishing, and learning to surf. Plus, you can see this view from every room in the house. Every room! We all slept with our doors open to the backyard and the sunrise woke us up every morning. Amazing. Take a look at their website, JB Luxury Properties, to see a fun virtual tour of the entire house!

We spent Halloween on the island {sidetone: we couldn't find a single pumpkin patch, but did see a total of.. 3 Halloween decorations on the whole island} and we decided to dress little Hudson in something fitting! A pineapple, of course. Natalie sewed this adorable felt costume just for him and he fit right in with his buds! We think he knew he was dressed up in costume- he was smiling more than ever and being a little ham in front of the camera! This was Hudson's first real vacation, and Kauai could not have been a better place. See below for some more pictures from around the island!

Not only is the Ginger Beach House the greatest, the owners of JB Luxury Properties are too! Both times we visited, Joe and Beth met us a the house when we arrived to give us a tour {and instructions on how to use all the high-tech equipment}. This time, however, they introduced us to two new rental properties they are building, which will double as wedding venues! This immediately peaked our interest.

One is called the Kaohe Sunset View House, a stunning home on a cliff above Kalihiwai Bay, with equally stunning views. Take a virtual tour of this one, it's unreal.

The other rental/wedding venue they are building is on a huge piece of property in Kapaa, and is complete with an outdoor kitchen and bar! Perfect for a wedding reception. The house is under a grouping of trees and feels so tropical and perfect, we can't wait to relive this through a virtual tour when it comes out on JB Luxury Properties. For now, our iPhone photos below will do!

We are eager to plan and design a wedding in one of these incredible venues. Don't hesitate to contact us if you're interested :) Have a delicious and happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
