Debbie & Frank's Seaside Wedding

On the weekend of Thanksgiving last year, we planned a beautiful seaside wedding for Debbie and Frank.

Part2-197.jpg

Although their marriage took place later in life, it didn’t deter these two from being head over heels for each other. Through every meeting we had with them planning colors, details, food and decor, these two seemed to be just so in love!

When talking with the two of them about their wedding design and feel, they made it clear they wanted a beach style wedding, with seashells and sunset toned florals. They wanted it to be a comfortable, fun space for their friends and family to gather and celebrate. Below is the mood board we created for their reception design, full of beach inspired shells, coral and driftwood, and the sunset toned florals. After looking at all the photos from their day, leave a comment below if you think we hit the mark with the design!

The reception took place at a private home in Shell Beach, right on the cliffs of the ocean. With various soft seating lounges throughout the yard, we brought the indoors out for a fun celebration that went well into the night. The sunset toned florals by Precious and Blooming were just the perfect accent to the ocean front property. Guests were sitting on the lounges, dancing on the dance floor and celebrating all night long!

This was such a lovely wedding to be a part of, and we will never forget the planning that went into it, and enjoying watching all the guests and Debbie and Frank celebrate. Debbie is no longer with us, and it is with heavy hearts that we send her family and friends our deepest condolences. She was the sweetest to us and we will forever cherish our memories of planning her day with her. Thank you Debbie for being so wonderful! <3

Camille & Jonathan: A Little Mermaid Inspired Wedding!

When we say 'A Little Mermaid Inspired Wedding", you're probably getting the idea that we had mermaid tails and fish scales flowing abundantly throughout this wedding design. But let us tell you, that is NOT the case!

Camille and Jonathan first met while working at Walt Disney Studios (hello, dream job), and bonded over the fact that The Little Mermaid was their favorite movie when they were little! Fast forward a few years and they began to plan their wedding, starting with the venue! They chose to get married at Lago Giuseppe in Paso Robles - the most magical venue set beside a lake and mossy trees in the middle of wine country.

They hired us on for Design only, and it was only fitting to incorporate their love of The Little Mermaid (and all things Disney) into their big day. With a color palette of pale ocean blues, deep reds, greens, and sequined neutrals, we created a romantic setting loosely based on the Disney theme.  We created table numbers out of seashells, Camille wore the most beautiful lace wedding dress, and linens were in various shades of blue. It was like a real life fairy tale!

For the seating chart, we painted our 7' wall pale blue, and hand wrote a romantic quote on it from the Little Mermaid "You're the one, the one that I've been looking for." We wrote guest's names and table numbers in gold calligraphy on real mussel shells, and attached these to the wall for guests to take home. Under these we created a faux seaweed look with dried pampas grass, for a fun underwater feel! This has to be one of our favorites, ever!

We put thought into each and every detail for C&J's wedding. See those fish shaped candleholders below? We sourced those specifically for this wedding! Jordan Voth captured every little detail, and we  were so excited to finally work with him after stalking his amazing Instagram!

Thanks to a fabulous team of vendors on this one. It was so fun to re-live this beautiful day! See the full gallery, here

Gemstone Place Cards

A few weeks ago, photographer Alexandra Wallace approached us to see if we could make some place cards for a shoot she was working on. We absolutely love making place cards, and any type of event signage, so we jumped at the chance!

Alexandra was working with some amazing fellow central coast vendors and we couldn't wait to see what they were dreaming up. The team consisted of Alexandra, Gusto on the Go, Copper and Crystal, and Eden Floral Designs.

Above is the Pinterest board that the team had put together, which we fell in love with! All the color, flowers, fruit and texture give us heart eyes all the way. We decided a natural texture would go with this shoot, as opposed to a paper or acrylic option, so we picked out the prettiest colored gemstones we could find, complete with gilded edges, and got to work!

We chose gemstones in a blue and pink palette, cut out names in gold foil in a fresh, modern font, and they were off to the shoot! We are so happy with how they came out, and they looked right at home with the other details in this Floral Bridesmaid Brunch shoot.

Even though we just contributed a tiny detail in this shoot, we love it all the same - these vendors did an amazing job. See more on Green Wedding Shoes!

Keeping it Fresh

As we continue reflecting on past work we've done, we couldn't help but stop by this Citrus Inspired shoot we collaborated on with photographer Lindsey Gomes at the most beautifully intimate venue, Hammersky Vineyards. Citrus is a great natural accent piece for styling!

We have always loved citrus as an accent, but we really wanted to make it the focal point of this inspiration shoot. The color palette consisted of orange and peach, combined with a pale romantic blue. These complementary colors worked perfectly together against the green backdrop of Hammersky and with the rich greenery in the floral arrangements. Eden Florals created the most stunning table arrangements and bouquet, and we tried our hand at floral design with creating a faux greenery and floral backdrop for the cake.

As you can tell, it wasn't the brightest summer day, but the table setting alone creates a fresh, summery feeling. Using Anthropologie plates and glassware, the table had a farm fresh yet luxurious vibe.

The cake table was possibly our favorite part! The cake, by Christina Bonnet was so adorable and just had a slight blue marbling to it. And our fun triangular shaped backdrop turned out to be the perfect frame for this sweet cutting cake. And yes, we cut into it and it tasted just as good as it looked!

Thank you to an amazing team of vendors on this shoot!
