Estate on Second Sneak Peek

When we first caught a glimpse of the Estate on Second, it was through a mutual friend's post of Facebook. We didn't know where this venue was, but knew we had to find out. Pictured were tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, and beautifully historic colonial style architectural details. It was under construction at the time but had the most amazing potential and we knew it was going to be made into something special.

An iphone snap of the ceremony site, just inside the front door to the estate.

Turns out that the Estate is in our home town of Orange County, in the city of Santa Ana, nestled in the Arts District. After touring the space and learning all about it's history (Lucille ball used to frequent this spot!), this venue quickly became one of our favorites in all of Southern California. We immediately contacted Sarah, the owner, about doing a styled shoot in her space, and she was more than gracious to let us come in and work our magic.

It didn't take long for us to come up with an idea for this styled wedding shoot. We drew design inspiration from our favorite city in the world: Paris. This shoot was designed to have a beautifully romantic, Parisian, feminine vibe, while keeping with the strong lines and more industrial nature of the venue itself.

We wanted potential clients to see what is possible inside the walls of the Estate, and how a little creativity and a lot of collaboration between great vendors can make one beauty of a wedding. So, we assembled a dream team and could not have asked for better people to make it all happen. It definitely takes a village!

Above, we are lighting candles and getting ready for Kelsea Holder to shoot our dining table scene. We are so pleased with how the table turned out, from the hand-dipped vintage brass charger plates, to our pressed crystal glassware, to the most amazing and unique floral centerpiece we dreamed up with floral artist, meagan of mv florals.

Our reception design board is inspired more by the nighttime in Paris. Still bright and light, but with elements of candlelight and a more moody gray palette. Below are some more behind the scenes glimpses of the shoot taken on our iPhones. nothing will compare to Kelsea Holder's photos, though! That third picture is one of our favorites- Kelsea doing her thing!

A huge thank you to our future bride and groom who modeled for us in this shoot. We are designing their wedding next July, and this shoot was a great chance for us to get to know them better. Plus they are one handsome couple and we knew they would be just perfect!
